Haven't read too far down as I've been drinking and am lazy.

Kane is lucky that nowadays a lot of international footie is against pretty poor teams and on a regular basis so he'll almost certainly end up the countries all time top scorer, but come on he's a fucking fantastic footballer and a millioniles ahead of any other English striker and indeed most other strikers in the world.

Fucking hate spurs, but the mong cunt is quality.

Where he is unlucky and would maybe have a few more already is that southgate is both negative and doesn't know how to get the best out of him ie the players who would get the best out of him.

Only belgium and France have players as good as ours to choose from for me currently (worldwide, I'm going large), so if not used properly that's it for us, as the next crop clearly aren't as good.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
Kane's performance at the 2018 WC was distinctly SPURSY
2 goals v Tunisia ... 3 against Panama (2 pens & one shot that hit him & went in) & a pen v Colombia
And then missed from 2yds v Croatia when he was needed

With the other attacking players England have he needs to get in the box
Spent far too long v Poland out on the wing or 10 yds outside the box. Seems to have taken all the wanking over him playing as a number 10 with Son to heart.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
Kane is a quality striker mainly against fodder teams, but I just don't think he plays well enough in the real big games consistently enough. He'd still be my first choice up front for England, but would you honestly go into a WC SF and think we've got a great chance of winning because we've got Kane up front? Not for me

Swap that with Lewandowski, Mbappe, and you feel they can be the difference in a tight game. I don't think that with Kane. He was dreadful in the SF against Croatia, a world class player would've turned up that day.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
Despite all the potential I'm not sure if too many in the current set up would displace the 1990 semi final line up. Certainly I don't think the defenders are any better. Maybe with claret and blue specs on go to four at the back and have Rice in a midfield with Gascoigne and Platt. Would Kane replace Lineker, or Mount and Foden instead of Waddle and Beardsley? I think as others have said there is a lack of experience in there.

Kane is fucking shit for england, 12 goals from the penalty spot. Overrated mongy cunt

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
I'd have Pickford over Pope.

Shaw over Chillwell, and James over Walker.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
I wouldn't have Pickford in goal.

I'd have Shaw over Chilwell. .Right back is a problem as well.

I just don't see us having a chance.

Sold - True enough. It may come down to what wins you games, keeping clean sheets or scoring a few? There are some fearsome forward players around in these Euro's which I think we will find hard to stop, so we may need to score a few. Then again, who really knows how it will pan out.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
True manual... but we did reach 2 WC semi finals playing a 5/3 at the back in..

1990

Parker Pearce Walker Butcher & Wright

and

2018

Maguire, Stones, Walker

I personally just think we look better... Stones (99% of the time) is ideal for the sweeper position... we have good wide men... a brilliant holding midfielder... I just think it would suit us

Two of those five were over-rated and one more was over-rated and shit.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
When you think we won nothing with a back 5 of Seaman, Neville, Cole, Terry, Ferdinand it's hard to be confident now.

With 5 subs allowed the starting eleven isn't as significant as what it would normally be.

Don’t underrate Kane if he were French, German, Italian or Spanish, for example he would be in their national team.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
I think Kane’s best position is more of a deep no10 now. He’d be more effective between the midfield and attacking lines. The challenge is finding the best combination (of three)? up top from Lingard, Sterling, Foden, Mount, Watkins, DCL, and Grealish, and whoever else.

Re: World Cup Qualifiers
What manuel said.... daft thing is he had an average WC and still ended up with the Golden Boot... yeah I know pens blah blah but he still won it... my problem with him is he's almost playing as a number 10 now... dropping deep (something that's he's very good at) and linking play... which is fine if you have runners from midfield... a Terry McDermott, Bryan Robson or a young David Platt would be ideal as his foil... but in the current crop?? Like people have said this Summer will make or break him if he is being put up with the England greats...

He's a bit of a flat track bully who's flattered by his penalty count.

Last night's one resulting from a massive dive by Sterling, who has reverted to being shit, but with added greedy.
